Hillsboro Roubaix RR

On March 31st the team headed to Hillsboro, IL for what we all knew would be a tough day of racing. In the men’s cat 3 event, 8 of us along with 100+ others raced the 3-lap 66-mile course of hills, cobblestones, gravel strewn tight turns and at times merciless wind.

Notable high and low moments for us included Jon's chain self destructing, Jim's tire going flat in the closing moments of the race, Steve's amazing 22 mile breakaway on lap 2 and Chip and Eric's titanic work at the front when it counted. Yet we all still finished!

High finishers for us were Seth in 4th and Lee in 8th.

In the women’s 1-2-3 event Devon and Megan took on the pros. On the same course, with the same conditions and distance, Devon and Megan very impressively finished 6th and 16th.

The season started at Parkside.

Team Get A Grip made its official debut at the 3 race ABR sanctioned criterium series in Kenosha, WI (March 11, 18, and 24). Our main goal was to test our fitness and practice some team tactics. The results were very promising. We happily received many positive comments about how well we rode as a team and how good the team kit and bike looks. The highlight was Lee's 2nd place overall standing at the end of the series.

Lee also achieved 2nd in ABD's concurrently occurring TT series which included 4 indoor and 1 outdoor TT.
